Here is a built & painted model kit: The Creature From the Black Lagoon, issued by Polar Lights from the Aurora molds. The Creature is set into a limited edition resin base, sculpted by Rick Evans in 2010. The Creature, base and included canvas backdrop were painted in oils. Te sand is somewhat lighter in color than the photo shows and it has a coating of very fine clear glitter that does not show up very well in the photos. See the two detail pictures for a hint of this. The red material under the base is not included.

   This is the first & original issue of the monster model of the "Creature From The Black Lagoon" movie released in 1954. Stored for decades loose, in a cardboard box with the rest of the collection by the original owner/builder, it has had some pieces come loose. Debated as to carefully clean it up from the dust, with a soapy water and reassemble the loose pieces, or list it as received. With the instructions from another kit, checked the pieces thoroughly. The tongue of the lizard is missing and one of the twigs on the branch by the left foot, on the base. Of course, no box or...

I wish I knew who the guy was that painted this, as he just did a beautiful job! My favorite Universal Monster and just the coolest model. Box has a couple minor dings. This has been displayed on an office shelf and just time for him to find a new home! I will also have up several Creature figures throughout the years - check other listings.

   Vintage 1963 Aurora Creature, COMPLETE, great looking and in great shape! There has been some repair, but I defy you to find it (even up close). The branch and snake are not original, but the model is vintage, 60 years old, and complete! It was built and painted by a Chicago artist who is also a life-long collector and builder of monster models. I'm going out on a limb and saying that this monster is the BEST LOOKING OF ANY AURORA CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON BUILD-UPs ON THE INTERNET. If you find a better one, please let me know.
