While he co-starred in the hit Flipper, he is best known for his portrayal of the Creature (Gill-Man) in the underwater sequences in the classic Universal Monster movies Creature from the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature, and The Creature Walks Among Us (other actors played the Gill-man on land). The only actor to play the creature more than once, he is also the only surviving Gill-man actor and is also the last surviving actor in the roster of Universal's classic monsters.
