See Letter of Merit attached. This is an original goal appliance pulled from the original 1953 Universal Studio mold from the Creature from the black lagoon. In the late 1980s, Universal Studios did house cleaning in which dozens of molds of original studio molds were thrown away. A majority of these molds were used in the creation of classic Universal Monster characters. Among the molds were various sections of the original Creature from the Black lagoon Gillman costume. This particular FOAM APPLIANCE was inspected in July, 2003 and it was recognized as a side piece from the earliest prototype design by Jack Browning. It was a one piece body stocking in which the appliances were attached to the leotard.
