Creature from Black Lagoon - ¼ Scale Resin FX Model - Rare Gillman Screamin Prototype. This is the late sculptor, Dwight Mills' resin model tribute to "The Creature from the Black Lagoon, " a large 1/4 scale kit, dating back 30 years. A huge fan of Classic Movie Monsters, Dwight Mills produced a dozen or so of his favorites in kit form, offering them through his GK company, FX Models.

This was back in the early'90's, and all of Mills' models saw a ridiculously low production run, with most never reaching 20 castings. The Gillman here is one of Mills' later efforts, created in the hope his sculpture would be produced in vinyl by Screamin' Products, Inc. That never happened, but a handful of Mills ¼ scale Creatures were produced in resin, this being one of those elusive few. The figure is cleanly cast in nine pieces of solid tan resin, measuring 18 3/4" tall x 6 1/2" wide when assembled. The sculpt is actually one of Mills' finest, with an excellent open-mouthed face, and a completely accurate rendition of the original Gillman suit.

A handmade homage from the dawn of the hobby - sculpted, molded, and hand-cast by the late Mr. Sadly, Dwight won't be making any more monsters in this world, but a handful of his work remains behind... Please note that this is an original garage kit, not a recast.
