Don Marquezis an American comic book artist from Sacramento, California. He self-published his comic book lsquo;Cartune Landrsquo; between 1985 and 1987. During the 1980s, he also worked for Apple Comics (lsquo;Thunderbunnyrsquo;, 1986), Blackthorne Publishing (lsquo;Werewolf 3-Drsquo;, lsquo;Jungle Comicsrsquo;, lsquo;Ramborsquo;, 1988), Camp;T Graphics (lsquo;Kiwani: Daughter of the Dawnrsquo;, 1988) and did a contribution to Dark Horse Presents.
In the 1990s, he did pencils and inks on the four issue mini-series lsquo;Harte of Darknessrsquo; for Eternity (1992), and for lsquo;The Realmrsquo; (1993) and lsquo;The Landrsquo; (1999) by Caliber Press. He is the creator of lsquo;Tiger Womanrsquo; for Millennium Publications, and of lsquo;The Nostradamus Chroniclesrsquo; for Tome Press. Jupiter has made adaptations of several lsquo;Professor Challengerrsquo; stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, such as lsquo;The Lost Worldrsquo; and lsquo;The Poison Beltrsquo. In 2002 he self-published the first issue of his comic book series lsquo;Fantastic Storiesrsquo; with Amryl Entertainment, and in 2007, he made lsquo;Alien Pig Far 3000rsquo; with Tom Jane, Todd Farmer and Steve Niles for Image Comics. Don is also a musician and painter. This 16 inch x 20 inch original artwork is painted on a canvas panel and is in excellent, unframed condition. It depicts a close-up portrait of the infamous Universal Studios iconic monster in all his Amazonian green glory. It is quite reminiscent of theFamousMonsters Of Filmlandcover art by the legendary Basil Gogos. The artist has signed and dated the painting in the lower right corner.
